About Us

Dr. Louise de Lange is a plastic surgeon and a fellowship trained Facial Plastic surgeon. Her training and skills encompass the full range of plastic and reconstructive procedures, with special training in minimally invasive endonasal rhinoplasty, deep plane facelift techniques, otoplasty, and correction of cleft nasal deformity.
While skilled in aesthetic and reconstructive facial procedures, she also believes in natural beauty and aims to provide a non-operated result whenever practical or appropriate. Her approach to aesthetics stems from her passion for both science and art. It’s the reason she decided to specialize in plastic and reconstructive surgery during her first year of medical school.

After Completing Medical School:

Residency and Fellowship

After completing her bachelor’s (MBChB) degree at Stellenbosch University (SU) in 2007, she embarked on a rigorous surgical training path. Let’s delve deeper into this phase of her career.

General Surgery Residency (Western Cape, 2012-2016):

Dr. de Lange spent five years training in general surgery. This broad foundation equipped her with the essential technical skills and patient management expertise necessary for any surgical field. During this residency, she likely honed her abilities in areas like surgical wound care, anaesthesia management, and surgical oncology.

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Specialization
(Stellenbosch University, 2016-2020):

Following her general surgery residency, Dr. de Lange dedicated an additional five years to specialising in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

This in-depth training program, under the mentorship of Dr. Alexander Zühlke at SU, allowed her to refine her surgical skills in a multitude of areas. She would have gained extensive experience in:

  • Aesthetic surgery of the face, breast, and body
  • Reconstructive surgery for trauma, burns, and congenital anomalies
  • Microsurgery techniques for tissue transfer and reconstruction

Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship
(Regensburg, Germany, 2021-2022):

To further refine her expertise in facial aesthetics and reconstruction, Dr. de Lange pursued a prestigious 15-month fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery.

This program, under the world-renowned rhinoplasty surgeon Professor Holger Gassner in Regensburg, Germany, provided her with unparalleled training in facial rejuvenation and reconstructive techniques. The fellowship likely focused on procedures such as:

  • Rhinoplasty (surgical nose reshaping) with a specific focus on minimally invasive endonasal techniques
  • Facelift surgery, including deep plane facelift variations for long-lasting results
  • Otoplasty (ear correction) to address prominent ears or other ear deformities
  • Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) to correct drooping upper eyelids or puffy bags under the eyes
  • Facial trauma reconstruction
